Tournamatch script description:

Publisher review:
Tournamatch is a PHP addon that assists you with hosting your own online gaming community. Tournamatch is an addon for PHP-Nuke that provides you with a way to host your own gaming sites. With this first release of Tournamatch, you can host tournaments for any game type or play. The current eliminations supported are both single and double elimination. You are no longer restricted to the 'even' values of 8, 16, 32, 64, etc... like before now. The software knows and can handle any number of players or teams. Players, Teams, & Sign-Ups Players don't have to register twice either. This has been a problem in the past as well. If they have an account on your Nuke site, then they have an account with the Tournamatch installed on your site too. All they have to do is click a Sign Up link on the site itself and just like that, they are entered. If you want to hold a Tournament of multiplayers, that's not a problem either. On signing up, users can create a new team, sign-up a previous team, or join a new team for that competition. Team names and player names can be anything desired as long as its not allready chosen, and Teams also get to create a tag prefix if wanted. Completely Automated The Sign Ups, reporting, and brackets are completely automated. This is something that is truly unique and amazed other admins on my gaming site. You(as the admin) could set a tournament to start a week from now and not even go online for another two weeks and see the tournament results. Admin When you create a tournament and set a start date, you have the option of allowing the tournament to 'auto-start'. With this enabled, the tournament will start at the set time without the assistance of any administrators. For example, for that tournament from above that we set to start a week from now, in exactly one week, the tournament would start. At that time Tournamatch gathers all of the information it needs and randomly makes the brackets itself. All the necessary pages are actived and the users can see who they have to play. Once they play the match, the loser reports his/her loss and the brackets updates itself. Other admin features are ability to create & edit games, report & edit matches, check the validity of matches, create & edit tournaments, start the tournaments manually if desired, end the tournament all together, create & edit players' profiles, and create & edit teams' profiles. I'll touch on those more later. Games, Players, & Teams Tournamatch will work with any game as well. Many gaming sites, especially the ones wanting to go bigger, support several games too. First person shooter sites for example, probably support several of the different Counter Strikes or the different Medal of Honor games. When you create a game, you can attach a pic and description too. This is just a way to keep everything a little more organized and adds more content to the website. Users don't necessary create a 'player' account. Each user on your site has his/her own player profile. They can add different contact info like aim, msn, yim, icq, email, and a homepage. Users can also select their World location and choose a flag to be displayed with their names. An actual profile field is availble and the pages that display their profile shows their tournament results too. Teams have most of the same options but are costumized at the team level. Check-Ins Check-Ins are a new feature too. I have had my own gaming site before and I grew tired of users signing up weeks in advance, being added to the brackets and then never show up. Check-Ins, if enabled, require the players or team captains to check in at a time set by you when you create the tournament. If they do not check-in during that time window, then they won't be added into the tournament. Back to our situation above with 'auto-starts', Tournamatch also knows about that and if the tournament requires check-ins, it will only take those players too. Match Validity From the admin panel, you can check the validity of each match. Every time a user reports a loss and signsup for a tournamnt, their IP is logged. This prevents users from simply creating multiple accounts on your site and signing up multiple times to cheat. With that information, you take the initiative of action weather a ban is inline or just a verbal warning. That is enough of a preview for now. There are a couple more features that I left out at the moment. There are some more features that I have not listed that I may or may not add but the broad overview above is all that is working and undergoing testing. More to come as we approach that hopeful release date.
